Job Description Summary

The Quality Management System & Continuous Improvement Leader is responsible for the oversight, effectiveness, standardization, and continual evolution of Garlington’s Quality Management System (QMS), while also serving as a continuous improvement leader for structured problem solving, operational excellence, and Built-In Quality (BIQ) sustainment. This role ensures the QMS is not merely compliant, but an active business operating system that drives process discipline, defect prevention, operational consistency, customer satisfaction, and measurable performance improvement. The leader will partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Plant Leadership to implement robust quality strategies, elevate process capability, institutionalize best practices, and drive sustainable continuous improvement across the business. This role serves as a subject matter expert for quality systems, advanced problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action effectiveness, and strategic improvement initiatives aligned with operational and customer priorities.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Quality Management System (QMS) effectiveness through audits, management reviews, performance metrics, trend analysis, and business feedback.
  • Implement and sustain robust Quality Management System improvements at the Garlington Plant
  • Drive standardization of procedures, work instructions, control methodologies, and system expectations across value streams.
  • Lead periodic management reviews of QMS effectiveness and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Quality Leaders to build plant-level Quality Management System (QMS) expertise and deployment.
  • Benchmark internal and external best practices to improve system performance.
  • Coach and mentor teams in advanced quality tools and methodologies including 8D Problem Solving, 5-Whys/3x5 Whys, PFMEA, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Engage in site operating rhythms to review key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze recurring themes, and lead targeted process performance improvement actions across the value streams.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Quality teams to resolve customer quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering/manufacturing/quality experience
  • Strong background and knowledge of Quality Management Systems

  • Expertise in Six Sigma Quality Concepts (FMEA’s, MSA’s, SPC, DFSS, DMAIC)
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

The base pay range for this position is $107,600.00 - 179,200.00 USD Annual.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. 

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $107,600.00 and $179,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
