Job Description Summary

The Sales Account Manager will have broad accountability to drive the success of the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear (GVH) business through commercial sales and relationship management. This role will be directly responsible for opportunity development and order closure across the nuclear utilities, customers and partners GVH works with in Japan. The role will coordinate internally with our Deal Structuring group and our Nuclear Services and Global Nuclear Fuels business teams to develop customer specific short- and long-term commercial strategies. Additionally, this role will support long-term planning and contribute to the overall GVH Business Strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will: 

  • Formulate and execute nuclear related service proposal strategies, negotiate sales agreements, establish pricing strategies, and commercial risk mitigation concepts for complex multi-year contracts.

  • Work within Japan focusing on the seven Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) customers and our Hitachi GE Nuclear Energy (HGNE) partnership to determine appropriate nuclear products and services solutions in a coordinated manner.

  • Engage with our utility customer’s senior executives at corporate headquarters, site leadership at the nuclear facilities, and project execution teams in the field to provide strategic guidance, sales expertise and customer relationship management.

  • Cultivate long-term relationships at all levels of our customer’s organizations to progress nuclear related orders and manage high level issue resolution.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations in line with company guidelines.

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and pipeline growth targets by executing strategic account plans for relevant products and services.

  • Maintain and update standard terms agreements to facilitate and simplify customer interactions and orders.

  • Contribute to defining and implementing marketing and commercial strategies to increase orders volume, scope and maximize profitability for relevant products and services

  • Support the design and deployment of scalable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) processes to simplify tracking of product portfolios, customer strategies, relationships, and forecasts

  • Keep GVH leadership team up to date on market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to inform sales and business growth strategies.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • At least 10 years of sales experience in the nuclear industry, with a proven record on orders conversion and pipeline management.

  • Candidates with less than 10 years of sales experience but greater than 10 years in a nuclear services delivery role, nuclear power plant operations or nuclear power plant maintenance role may also be considered.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Demonstrated sales funnel management, along with contract terms and long-term agreement negotiations

  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer facilities including HQ offices and plant site offices across Japan on a regular monthly rhythm and up to 50% of the time during key negotiation cycles.

  • This position is in located in the Tokyo Japan, with travel to GVH Headquarters in Wilmington NC USA or to other global locations required with or without customers on an occasional basis.

  • GVH will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Japan and the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable). This role is restricted to Japanese nationals (i.e., Japan citizens), permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. GE will offer no expat program for the position.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration or related engineering discipline

  • Demonstrated understanding of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance and nuclear fuel cycles.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, experience in Lean and developing standard work

  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English minimum: experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex sales information in a clear and concise manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

  • Clear thinking / problem-solving: successfully led cross-functional negotiations, projects and process improvement within sales functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  • Having met with current CNOs (Chief Nuclear Officers) of various Japan utilities and worked with both Headquarters and Site customers for either sales or delivery of nuclear power plant projects for at least 10 years.

  • Understand the legal and/or contractual terms required to discuss Terms and Conditions internally and with customers.

  • Familiar with various nuclear industry organizations in Japan.
