Job Description

  • Support BD operating mechanisms on finance matters (e.g., deal approvals, investment committee reviews, deal memos, executive and Board materials).

  • Champion standard work, lean principles, and best‑practice tools to drive consistency and rigor across all BD Finance activities.

Deal Evaluation & Execution

  • Lead end‑to‑end financial support for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and other complex commercial transactions.

  • Build and/or review financial rationale for deals; challenge and refine financial models and key assumptions.

  • Support valuation, financial modeling, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and return‑on‑investment (ROI) assessments.

  • Develop and challenge business cases to ensure robust assumptions, risk‑adjusted returns, and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Oversee finance workstreams across active deals, ensuring high‑quality, timely analysis and clear recommendations.

  • Partner with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Operations, and Business Units on deal structuring, bidding strategies, and negotiation support.

  • Oversee financial due diligence and coordinate with internal teams and external advisors where appropriate.

  • Lead post‑close finance activities, including purchase price adjustments, earn‑out calculations, working capital true‑ups, and resolution of price-related disputes.

  • Partner with Business Units, Integration Management Offices (IMOs), and functional leaders to ensure financial accountability for integration plans and synergy delivery.

Leadership, Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing Business Development Finance team; attract, coach, and retain top finance talent.

  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and cross‑functional collaboration.

  • Promote best practices, tools, and methodologies for deal evaluation and strategic financial analysis across the finance organization.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, advisors, and potential partners.

  • Represent Finance in key strategic forums, steering committees, and deal governance processes.

QULIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.

  • MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • 12–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant exposure to corporate M&A, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory.

  • Proven track record leading large, complex transactions from evaluation through execution and post‑close value realization.

  • Experience operating at the executive level within a global, matrixed organization.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, trading and transaction comps, precedent transactions), and scenario/sensitivity analysis.

  • Strong understanding of deal structures, financing alternatives, and key value drivers in strategic transactions.

  • Solid knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and corporate finance principles.

  • Strong commercial acumen on finance topics and an ability to connect legal, commercial, and financial considerations on key business matters and transactions.

Leadership & Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong executive presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills; able to challenge assumptions and drive decisions with data and insight.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under tight timelines.

  • Inclusive people leader with a track record of building, developing, and engaging diverse, high‑performing teams.
