Job Description Summary
As part of GE Vernova Wind Engineering, the Blade Repair Development team is responsible for the design, validation, and lifecycle support of wind blade components and systems. The Senior Engineer – Blade Repair Validation & Development leads the projects for the technical development, validation, industrialization, and deployment of blade repair solutions for both in-service fleets and production environments.In this role, you will be responsible for defining and validating robust repair methods for composite blade structures, ensuring technical rigor, safety, quality, and repeatability. You will work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Services, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and EHS to improve blade reliability, reduce downtime, and standardize repair practices globally. This position requires strong technical depth in composite structures and repair methods, along with the ability to convert engineering development into scalable field and factory processes.
The successful candidate will combine hands-on engineering judgment, structured problem solving, and strong collaboration skills to develop and validate repair methods that meet product, service, and customer requirements. This role is well suited for an engineer who is passionate about innovation, technical ownership, and delivering practical solutions that improve fleet performance and business outcomes.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead projects of varying scope to develop and execute blade repair solutions for the fleet, with the goal of maximizing turbine availability, performance, and business outcomes.
- Define repair validation strategies, including qualification plans, acceptance criteria, test methods, and technical evidence needed to support repair approval and deployment. Translate development results into scalable, standard processes and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with Services to pilot and scale methods on operating turbines. And collaborate with Manufacturing to embed repairs in factory rework processes.
- Support development and review of blade repair technical specifications, create standardized work instructions, and methods in services and production.
- Ensure repair methods comply with applicable EHS requirements, product safety expectations, quality standards, and industry regulations.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers, technicians, and field personnel on repair execution, inspection methods, and validation requirements.
- Contribute to risk assessments using structured engineering tools such as FMEA, 8D, fault analysis, or equivalent methodologies.
- Participate in on-site validation that could include turbine climbs, field trials, and repair audits to ensure repair procedures are executable, effective, and consistently applied.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, or related technical discipline).
- Minimum of 10 years of technical experience managing blade composite repairs.
Eligibility Requirements
- Relocation to Greenville, SC is required.
- Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 25% of the time.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of composite materials, structures, and repair techniques.
- Experience in wind turbine blade services and factory rework environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, technicians, and operators.
- Hands-on experience in composite structure repair, repair development, validation, or a closely related field.
- Track record of curiosity and a strong passion for identifying and turning new ideas, technologies, and methodologies into product differentiated outcomes.
- Demonstrated capability in structured problem-solving using methodologies such as FMEA, RCA, and 8D.
- Knowledge of wind turbine industry standards and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to individuals at all levels of the organization while ensuring transparency and gaining alignment with internal/external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop technical talent.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
