Job Description

Job Description

Are you passionate about solving complex controls challenges that keep critical power systems running? We’re looking for a Senior Gas Turbine Controls Engineer to help shape and deliver advanced control system solutions for gas turbine and combined cycle applications.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership across the full controls software lifecycle — from requirements definition and design through validation, commissioning support, and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, customers, and field personnel to deliver reliable, high-quality controls solutions that support successful power plant startups and long-term operational performance.

This is an opportunity for an experienced controls professional to combine deep Mark VIe expertise within Gas Turbine Control, technical leadership, and systems-level thinking to influence both product execution and team capability.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, development, execution, and validation of Gas Turbine Controls software to meet project and product requirements
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to controls software engineers across programs and initiatives
  • Partner with internal engineering teams, customers, and field teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule
  • Conduct design and milestone reviews to ensure controls features meet performance, quality, and acceptance criteria
  • Support field personnel in resolving commissioning and startup issues, including complex ER cases
  • Develop and improve documentation, work instructions, and software requisition processes
  • Drive productivity, process improvement, and lessons-learned initiatives to increase team capacity and execution quality
  • Collaborate across the Gas Power Engineering community to align requirements and implement effective controls solutions
  • Bring a systems integration mindset to balance technical performance, customer needs, and execution demands

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in controls development on the Mark VIe platform

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle Controls
  • Proven ability to lead teams through software development and technical problem-solving
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills across engineering, field, and customer stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead customer-facing discussions
  • Systems-level perspective with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical, high-quality controls solutions
  • Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement and applying lessons learned to future programs
