Role Summary:

As a Senior Program Manager at GE Vernova, you will oversee the successful orchestration and delivery of a complex portfolio of Grid Automation projects coordinating with Project Managers in charge of the execution of each individual projects. These projects involve a combination of protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, telecom equipment (switches, routers, firewalls), and servers running various applications such as human-machine interfaces, automation algorithms, and archiving processes. This role requires a blend of project management and planner/scheduler skills within our energy sector.

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for regular reporting of the overall portfolio execution status to key stakeholders such as but not limited to GE Vernova leadership team, customers, project team, as well as supporting resolution of execution issues as required.

You will also work closely with the Commercial and Proposal teams to support identification of new opportunities with key customers, supporting the proposal process through quote review, negotiation, and order receipt.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program Oversight:
    • Lead multiple interrelated projects within the Grid Automation solutions domain.
    • Ensure alignment of project goals with overall business objectives.
    • Manage program budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
    • Ensure clear communication and manage expectations throughout the life cycle of all projects in the portfolio.

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
    • Utilize planning and scheduling tools to monitor progress and identify potential risks.

  • Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project delivery.
    • Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.

  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain high standards of project execution.

  • Team Leadership:
    • Mentor and lead project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to enhance their project management skills.

  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the energy or Grid Automation sector.
    • Proven experience in managing complex, multi-faceted projects.
    • Experience with protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, and telecom equipment is highly desirable.

  • Certifications:
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Additional certifications in Grid Automation or related technologies are a plus.

  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
    • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Deep understanding of Grid Automation solutions and industry standards.
  • Experience with telecom equipment and network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of automation algorithms and human-machine interfaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $114,100.00 and $190,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
