A central element of this transformation is the launch of the GridBeats™ Product Line, dedicated to delivering software-defined automation solutions. This initiative integrates advanced technologies and develops distinctive software solutions to address evolving market demands.
As part of the GridBeatsTM India R&D team, we are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to define and drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our GridBeats™ Software Products.

Job Description

In this role, you will contribute to the strategic roadmap and own day-to-day execution of various software products and solutions, ensuring the development, verification, and validation of robust, scalable, and innovative software releases. Your mission is to lead the teams working on various GridBeats Software products and own delivery of high-quality, standardized, and secure software that meets the evolving needs of our customers and aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.

You will champion continuous improvement and foster cross-functional collaboration across Global Software teams, CTO Design Office, CTO DevOps, GridBeats™ Product Line and Program Management, Regions and Cybersecurity. You will ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.

You will have direct execution responsibility for multiple software releases across various products and solutions. This position reports directly to the GridBeats™ India R&D Leader

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Define and drive the various software releases as per the S2 plan
    • Contribute to strategy roadmaps for GridBeats Software Products, ensuring alignment with product and market requirements.
  • Development Leadership:
    • Lead the Development team in designing, coding, and testing   Software.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure software solutions on time.
  • Verification and Validation:
    • Oversee the verification and validation processes to ensure Software meets all functional and performance specifications.
    • Implement rigorous testing and quality assurance practices to accomplish best in class release quality.
    • Drive strong rigor towards an ever increasing Test Automation based test coverage
  • Innovation and Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Software performance, scalability, and security.
    • Foster a culture of innovation within the Grid Beats India Software team.
    • Drive adaption of AI/ML tools across the product release lifecycle to accomplish significant improvements in release quality and execution speed
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product management, Program Management, IEDs R&D, Operations, Regions, to ensure cohesive product development
    • Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure   Software development adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in   systems and   Software technologies.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead a diverse team of individual contributors and people leaders as a cohesive high performing team
    • Mentor and develop team members and people leaders, promote skill growth and professional development.
    • Build a high-performing, motivated, and cohesive Software team.
    • Drive the continuous development of software engineering and validation competencies, ensuring alignment with emerging technologies and evolving business needs.
  • Foster a high-performing and attractive work environment by attracting, developing, and retaining top software talent.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in software engineering leadership, with a strong background in software architecture, development, validation, and quality assurance across complex products and solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Agile at scale methodologies, particularly SAFe, with demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in a scaled agile environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in modern software technologies, development frameworks, and validation strategies, with the ability to guide architectural decisions and ensure technical excellence.
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams, including talent acquisition, coaching, and career development, aligned with evolving business and technology needs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align technical strategy with business objectives and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement and innovation, fostering a culture of quality, agility, and accountability.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest advancements in   technologies and connectivity protocols
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize   systems
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field; certifications in SAFe or Agile leadership are a strong plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of protection and control segment for T&D. Understanding of industry standards, certifications, and security best practices for   devices. Strong knowledge on the IEC standards IEC 61850, 60870-5, 62351, 62433-4-2.
  • Power System Product Design: experience on developing Power System Products will be appreciated
