Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Design, implement, and monitor SOX-related controls across data and analytics processes, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures, including data quality, lineage, and metadata management.
Create clear, accurate, and timely compliance reports for management, audit teams, and regulatory stakeholders.
Coordinate closely with internal and external auditors, providing documentation, evidence, and explanations to support audit activities.
Ensure governance and security controls are embedded in cloud environments, with a strong focus on AWS best practices, encryption, and cloud security frameworks.
Safeguard personal and sensitive data through robust protection measures, encryption standards, and compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Develop and deploy automated and AI-driven audit solutions (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive risk scoring, automated control testing) to proactively identify compliance risks and streamline monitoring.
Support governance practices across analytics platforms such as Databricks, Tableau, and Power BI, ensuring compliance is integrated into reporting workflows.
Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering a culture of compliance, security, and data stewardship.
Required Qualifications
5–8 years of professional experience in SOX compliance and data governance.
Strong understanding of cloud technologies and security in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
Knowledge of personal data protection, sensitive data handling, and encryption practices.
Basic proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data and analytics platforms.
Proven ability to create compliance reports and communicate findings clearly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in compliance and governance processes.
Exposure to AI/ML concepts and ability to apply them in compliance monitoring and audit automation.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Databricks, Tableau, or Power BI.
Exposure to enterprise data catalog or metadata management tools.
Experience applying AI/ML frameworks to compliance or governance use cases.
Background in cross-functional collaboration within large-scale data environments.
Leadership Skills:
- Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., UX, GE Business teams) and understand the inter-dependencies between them.
- Ability to showcase teamwork skills to achieve common goals, provide resolutions and share ideas.
- Demonstrate the presentation and influencing skills.
