Job Description

We’re seeking a Power Systems Technical Support Engineer to join our world-class team. You'll provide technical support at MW-scale for Industrial and Marine Power Systems.  You will engage with customers and the local engineering teams to provide technical support for current and legacy platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use your experience in Power Systems design and practical hands-on experience through supporting Power Systems commissioning activities.

  • Take ownership of technical issues and drive through to conclusion.

  • Have customer facing experience, be a good communicator and well organised.

  • Be able to handle multiple ongoing activities in parallel.

  • Support lessons learned and feed back into design standards.

  • Ensure recommendations, solutions and advice are technically compliant, and safe.

  • Provide timely solutions to customers.

  • Engage with wider engineering teams where necessary, to develop your technical knowledge and experience.

  • Provide Power Systems application support & technical guidance to customers and to our commercial and site teams.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant subject, or relevant industrial experience.

  • Working towards or hold IEng or CEng qualification.

  • Willing to travel within UK and overseas for short-term working.

  • Holistic knowledge of Power Systems (HV & LV), including alternators, grounding systems, switchboards, protection relays, AVRs, transformers, power electronic converters, etc.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Able to establish good relationships with customers and colleagues.
