  • Architect and enable implementation of data models and schemas for large-scale grid planning datasets.

  • Drive performance tuning (query optimization, caching strategies, memory usage).

  • Establish data contracts and versioning strategies across modules.

  • Drive implementation of reusable UI frameworks, component libraries, and design systems.

  • Own frontend architecture decisions (state management, data fetching, performance). Ensure tight integration between UI and backend APIs.

  • Implement shared components used across modules (visualizations, dashboards, workflows).

  • Design and evolve a modular, service-oriented architecture supporting multiple product domains. Define API standards (REST/gRPC), service contracts, and integration patterns.

  • Build and maintain shared platform services such as: Authentication/authorization layers, Job orchestration and scheduling, Simulation execution frameworks

  • Conduct deep technical design reviews and code reviews. Unblock teams by contributing code or solving complex technical issues.

  • Drive adoption of platform components through developer experience improvements.

  • Own system performance and scalability end-to-end. Implement observability: logging, metrics, tracing. Drive CI/CD practices, automated testing, and release pipelines.

  • Work with the team to develop real-world test cases to prove the capabilities of the tools as they are built

  • Work with Internal and External PlanOS users to identify desired features and capabilities

  • Lead portions of the software development, providing detailed specifications while demonstrating and teaching best practices to other members of the team

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field

  • 8+ years of professional relevant experience

Preferred:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C# or similar. Familiarity with software engineering best practices (version control, testing, code reviews).
